Tarot and Kabbalah: Prologue

Prologue

The Kabbalah is lost within the night of time, within the womb of Maha Kundalini, the Great Mother, where the universe was engendered The Kabbalah is the science of numbers.

The author of the Tarot was the Angel Metatron. He is Lord of the Serpent Wisdom. The Bible refers to him as the Prophet Enoch.

The Angel Metatron, or Enoch, delivered the Tarot in which the entirety of divine wisdom is enclosed. The Tarot remains written in stone. He also left us the twenty-two letters of the Hebrew alphabet. This great Master lives in the Superior Worlds in the world of Atziluth, which is a world of indescribable happiness. According to the Kabbalah, this world is the region of Kether, a very high Sephirah.

All Kabbalists base themselves on the Tarot and it is necessary for them to comprehend the Tarot and study it deeply.

The universe was made with the Law of Numbers, Measurements, and Weight. Mathematics forms the universe and the numbers become living entities.

One who penetrates Chesed, the pure and ineffable world of the Spirit, can verify that in this region everything is reduced to numbers. This region is incredibly real. In this physical world, we do not see things as they are. We see merely the images of things. But when in Chesed, we can know the amount of atoms that form a table and the amount of Karma owed by the planet, as well as the amount of molecules that function in each body.

Chesed is a world of mathematics. It is a realistic world. In Chesed, one may believe that one is separated from the reality of the world; yet, one is actually in the reality. In a temple of Chesed, one can know the quantity of people who are Self-realized, and the quantity of those who are not. If one enters a kitchen, one knows the amount of atoms that are in the food that one is going to eat. This is an incredibly realistic world. In the world of Chesed, one knows who is truly a Human Being.

One night, when I was in the world of Chesed, I entered into a theatre where the Lords of Karma were shown passing by on the movie screen, which is actually the screen of creation. They were balancing the Karmas of the two strongest nations of the world upon a great scale. Each nation's Karma was placed on either side of the scale. The scale inclined towards the colossus of the North. This colossus holds a great deal of Karma. Its strength is weakening, and it will eventually fall fulminated. Unquestionably, any Karma that is owed must be paid.

The Theosophists speak of planes and sub-planes. These are the ten Sephiroth, the ten emanations of the Eternal Mother Space, the ten surges that serve as a foundation of the Great Mother.

The seven planets of the solar system are the seven Sephiroth. And the Thrice-spiritual Sun is the Sephirothic Crown. These Sephiroth live and palpitate within our consciousness and we must learn to manipulate and combine them in the marvellous laboratory of our interior universe. Thanks to the Sephiroth, one can transform oneself into a Human Being. There are feminine Sephiroth as well as masculine, just as we find positive ions and negative ions.

Our Inner Being needs the realization of these ten Sephiroth because they are within us, here and now. When these ten realized Sephiroth that resemble precious gems are encrusted into an individual, they convert the person into a Self-realized Human Being. This is something marvellous. The Sephirothic Crown is formed by Kether, Chokmah, and Binah. One has to comprehend the foundation of these three Sephiroth.

Three Sephiroth

Kether is the Elder of the Days, the Hidden of the Hidden, the Good of the Good. He has thirty-one curls in his hair, and thirteen ringlets in His beard. Thirteen symbolizes the Verb, the Word. Marvellous things have been spoken about Him. One can have a meeting with Him through Samadhi (ecstasy) in order to receive his commands. He is infinitely merciful. He is absolute wisdom.

Chokmah is the Christ, love. The Christ awaits the disciple that will work in the Ninth Sphere, and He prepares him with infinite love. The Instructor of the world is Love.

Binah is the Holy Spirit, the igneous power. The following is an example of Binah. A Hierophant was approached by a mentally ill woman, who wished to be healed. The Hierophant succeeded in curing her and asked the woman's relatives for payment for his service. Subsequently, he had a meeting with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit took the form of a white dove. The Hierophant inquired if he was treading well on the path, and the Holy Spirit told him that he was not. "I am the one who heals," said the Holy Spirit. Because of this experience, the Hierophant decided to return the money. If one has the power to cure and collects payment, the individual commits a very grave crime.

Kabbalah is often spoken of in the Internal Worlds. One has to know how to add Kabbalistic numbers. If we ask a Master how long we are going to live, he will answer in numbers.

The objective of studying the Kabbalah is to be skilled for work in the Internal Worlds. For example, on one occasion, an initiate asked for the power of clairvoyance. Internally he received the answer, "It will be in eight days." One that does not understand will return to the physical body believing that within eight days he or she will be clairvoyant. For example, if the day is Wednesday, the person will believe he will be clairvoyant by the following Wednesday. In reality, eight is the number of Job. Thus, the answer was indicating that the initiate must have patience. One that does not comprehend remains confused in the Internal Worlds. Kabbalah is the basis in order to understand the language of these worlds.

It is obvious that the Kabbalistic studies must be combined with work on oneself. One must be conscious of these studies, for if they remain only in the intellect they will be lost when one dies. Yet, if one is conscious of them, the knowledge will manifest itself from childhood.

On a certain occasion, an initiate wanted to know how he was progressing in his esoteric studies. His Guru answered him Kabbalistically, saying: "You need fifty-eight minutes in order to complete the work, and you must bring thirty-six Bolivars, each one of them of thirty-two kilograms, and the initiations must be qualified."

Minutes: 58 (5 + 8) = 13 Death

Bolivars: 36 (3 + 6) = 9 The Ninth Sphere

Kilograms: 32 (3 + 2) = 5 The Pentalpha, the Pentagram

If an initiate needs fifty-eight minutes, it means he has not even an hour in order to liberate himself, (5 + 8 = 13, Death). If minutes are spoken of it is because he has little time.

The thirty-six Bolivars, San Martines or Morelos (currency of South America) are the liberators, (3 + 6 = 9, the Ninth Sphere), sex, the work with the spear. These are the thirty-six basic fundamental works.

The thirty-two kilograms are the thirty-two paths, the Pentalpha.

58 + 36 + 32 = 126

1 + 2 + 6 = 9

All of the work is in the Ninth Sphere. This is the Kabbalistic language that is used in the White Lodge. Do not forget that the additions themselves are Kabbalistic additions. One must be completely practical. When the meanings of the twenty-two arcana are known, then the practical part of predictions must be studied. This is in order to utilize the knowledge intelligently in cases of very important matters. The twenty-two arcana must be memorized. In order to be a complete Kabbalist, one has to study; one has to record the teachings in the memory.

Inverential peace,
